MTV: Justin Chon interviews Muse

MTV gave Twilight actor Justin Chon (Eric) the chance to interviews Muse

Justin Chon: You guys are on all the ["Twilight"] soundtracks, and I know that ["Eclipse" director] David Slade actually did some of your music videos.

Matthew Bellamy: Yeah, yeah. He did four music videos for us.

Justin Chon: Wow, four? So is David Slade cooking something up for you guys for “Eclipse”?

Matthew Bellamy: Well, for “Eclipse,” someone was asking us to write a song for it, I think. We haven’t gotten around to doing that yet, because we’re really busy touring. But hopefully, if we get time over the holiday break, we might be able to lay something down that gets used in the film.

New Moon Soundtrack Track List Reveals Tomorrow

MTV has an article discussing about the currently rumors of who will be on the soundtrack and announces that a full track list will be announced tomorrow.

“The Twilight Saga: New Moon” is one of the most feverishly anticipated film releases of the fall (out November 20), and with it comes one of the most talked-about soundtracks since, well, last year’s “Twilight” soundtrack. One song has already been unleashed, as Death Cab for Cutie unveiled their contribution “Meet Me on the Equinox” on MTV.com during Sunday’s VMAs. The full track list will be announced Friday, but there are already more details emerging about the album, due out October 20.

Music supervisor Alexandra Patsavas told The New York Times that she was “confident” the soundtrack would include already-rumored tracks from Radiohead’s Thom Yorke, wintry indie folker Bon Iver and British alt-rockers Band of Skulls. Citing “group representatives,” the Times also asked about rumors that the Killers and Grizzly Bear would have songs on the soundtrack, but Patsavas would not comment on either band.

Death Cab For Cutie: New Moon Video Shoot

Death Cab For Cutie talks about their upcoming music video for New Moon.

As soon as Death Cab for Cutie learned their “Meet Me on the Equinox” had been chosen as the first single from the upcoming “New Moon” soundtrack, they immediately began thinking about the accompanying music video.

Their first idea was to go big, as in “cameos by Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner.” Of course, that was mostly just wishful thinking, so they went with option number two: make a smart, stylish clip with the directorial tandem known as Walter Robot, a pair of guys known for making smart, stylish clips (including DCFC’s VMA-nominated “Grapevine Fires”).

Death Cab For Cutie: Team Edward vs Team Jacob

“OK, so again, having only finished the second book, I feel like I’m sort of out on a limb a little bit, because I haven’t started the third book,” Walla told MTV News. “So I’m really excited to see the film and sort of see if I feel like I’m still out on a limb. Like, I love Jacob. He’s great. In the middle of the book, he’s the one who’s taking care of Bella, and, like, where’s Edward? What is he doing? What an a–hole! But he comes through in the end, and, you know, we’ll see what happens.”

So there you go: Chris Walla thinks Edward Cullen is an a–hole. And that wasn’t the only revelation Walla had for us on the “Equinox” set. Apparently, there currently exists a five-hour version of the “New Moon” film — and, no, he hasn’t seen it either.

MTV Interviews Death Cab for Cutie

MTV News just spoke to the guys in Death Cab For Cutie about their new song, “Meet Me On The Equinox” that will be the first single off the film’s soundtrack

“We didn’t expect it would be chosen for the first single — we were thinking it would be a part of the soundtrack, maybe,” Harmer laughed. “I have no idea if ['Twilight' author] Stephenie Meyer approved it or what. It’s been an exciting process, because we’ve been so removed from it. We were in L.A. for a week and we went into the studio and wrote and recorded the song and submitted it. We didn’t know where anything stood, and then we just got a call last week like, ‘Guess what — your song has been chosen as the first single.’ “
