Peter and Jackson: Rachelle Controversy

MTV talks with Peter Facinelli and Jackson Rathebone about Rachelle getting replaced in Eclipse.

Although there was a lot of fun to be had at TwiCon over the weekend, there was an elephant in the room few celebrities would address. While Twilighters took sides and spoke passionately about the recent replacement of Rachelle Lefevre as evil vampire Victoria for the third installment of the “Twilight” series, some of the saga’s stars refused to answer questions on the controversial matter — for understandable reasons.

A pair of high-profile stars who began the mega-franchise with Lefevre, however, did agree to speak with us on the record. And they were eager to say that they’ve spent the last few days sharing one key emotion with their fans: sadness.

Interview with Peter Facinelli

Twilight Examiner interviews Peter Facinelli about Eclipse and Nurse Jackie.

AB: What was your favorite part of Eclipse?

PF: I actually like that, in the book, a lot of the family members are talked about, and in the movie they’re in it a lot more. The books are all told from Bella’s perspective, so a lot of times, when she’s not in the scene and things are happening, you don’t actually get to see them, like the battle scene, for instance. In Eclipse when the whole family and the werewolves are fighting the newborn vampires, it’s talked about and through Edward you kind of get something, but in the movie you actually get to see it, you know, so I like that in the interpretations of the movies, it’s not always about Bella’s perspective. She isn’t always in the scene, and so that opens up the story a little bit. The Cullens are in it a lot more throughout.

Q&A With Peter Facinelli

The Sunday Paper has a quick Q&A with Peter Facinelli.

We know “Twilight” fans can get pretty batty. Any close encounters?

They save all that for Rob Pattinson! My character is more of a patriarch figure, and the fans have been very respectful. I’m pretty easygoing and I stop and take a lot of pictures with them. Sometimes I find the more you try to run away from it, the harder it is. For Rob, it’s very overwhelming. For me, it’s the right amount. The perfect amount.

Have you ever been as rabid a fan of something as these “Twilight” fans are?

No. I’ve got to hand it to Twilight fans. [A] guy flew from Denver for an autograph signing; I don’t think there’s anyone that I would get on an airplane and fly to get an autograph from. That’s a diehard fan, and I’m very humbled. That’s why I try to go out of my way when I see fans to give back.

Peter Facinelli: Carlisle and Vampire Baseball

RadarOnline interviews Peter Facinelli about the baseball game tomorrow and New Moon.

RadarOnline: Tell us about the baseball game tomorrow?

Peter Facinelli: We’re going to test our vampire baseball skills in front of a large crowd and I think a lot of people are going to find out that a lot of the cast member s don’t know how to throw a ball and they just made us look good. The Make-A-Wish Foundation asked if I would play and I thought it was for a really good cause. I like doing charity events because I think it’s important to give back. I played baseball when I was younger but I haven’t played in a long time, so it should be fun. I hope Rachelle’s on my team. She’s the one with the wicked curve ball, right? I don’t know, I’m showing up with my old oiled glove and waiting to see where the coach puts me. I don’t even know who the coach is. I might be the coach for all I know. I think Carlisle should definitely be the coach. The difference is tomorrow there are no special effects, whatever speed we run and however we hit the ball is the real deal. We’re going to have no stunt doubles tomorrow.
