Peter Facinelli must be the coolest dad on the planet.

Just ask his kids.

Facinelli – who plays Dr. Carlisle Cullen in the Twilight franchise — has three daughters with his wife, 90210′s Jennie Garth.

He just returned from Vancouver where he’s been filming the Twilight sequel New Moon and RadarOnline.com caught up with him at Sunday’s L.A. opening of the musical Back to Bacharach and David.

We asked him what his daughters think of him sharing the big screen with vampire hunk Rob Pattinson.

“Peter Facinelli and Kellan Lutz gave the paps a little show while arriving at LAX. The Twilight actors whipped out a copy of ‘New Moon’ and pretended to read it to stage a great photo. They should have placed the book upside down. LOL!”

Some of the Deadbolt News staff members met Peter Facinelli in Vancouver.

“Interestingly, as an unexpected momentary glimpse of what the New Moon stars encounter when they walk the streets of Vancouver, Peter Facinelli remained on the sidewalk for slightly under 10 minutes, smiling and chatting away until all autographs were signed and a few photos were taken, which speaks to the patience and obvious appreciation Peter has for Twilight and New Moon fans. PopStar did a Q&A with Peter Facinelli about New Moon, the character he plays (Carlisle), & more!

PopStar: New Moon begins filming in a couple of weeks. What are you most looking forward to?
Peter Facinelli: In general, the second book, New Moon, is really interesting because of the way it delves into the American Indians part of Jacob’s story. It has a lot more special effects with the werewolves; I am excited to see how that all comes out. I am also excited that Chris Weitz will be building this world.

PopStar: Probably the most crucial question ever asked. Do you think that Bella made the right decision picking Edward over Jacob?
Peter Facinelli: That is a tough one. As a reader I was torn, but looking on as Carlisle, I am happy that she did pick our family. She gave up a lot in order to become one of us but she got back a lot. What she got in return was eternal love, so you can’t really beat that.

PopStar: Which is your favorite Twilight book?
Peter Facinelli: I am one of the biggest fans of the books. I like Eclipse because it has a lot of action in it. Twilight is a close second because it gave such a great setup to this world but Eclipse has a lot of back story on the family and I am excited to shoot the third one. The fourth one is really interesting too!
