MTV Movies Blog has a funny article on all the New Moon rumors and created some crazy ones:

In lieu of all the “New Moon” casting chatter, the wonderful “Twilight” team at MTV News put on their thinking caps and came up with a list of insane and completely unfounded rumors to rival some of the ones percolating on the Internet.

» Mickey Rourke is replacing Billie Burke as Charlie. Why? Because Mickey Rourke is awesome.

» Earlier this week the news broke that Governor Schwarzenegger was taking time off to do a film. Could this be a cover for a “New Moon” role? TOTALLY.

» There will be a new character named Stewart, Edward’s long-lost brother. Stewart will have equally awesome hair and will be played by Zac Efron.

» Brad Pitt’s old man version of Benjamin Button is going to play Aro.

» Daniel Radcliffe is going to replace Jackson Rathbone as Jasper. He’ll have his wizard stick handy in case Voldemort pops up to kill Edward.

Kristen Stewart On Why She Wasn’t At The Oscars

Access Hollywood has an article in which they talked with Kristen’s father, John Stewart about why Kristen Stewart was not presenting with Robert Pattinson at the Oscars.

At Sunday night’s 81st Annual Academy Awards, “Twilight’s” vampire teen heartthrob Robert Pattinson was a presenter alongside “Mamma Mia” star Amanda Seyfried.

It left many wondering: where was his “Twilight” co-star, Kristen Stewart?

Access’ Billy Bush got the answer on the red carpet, when he asked Kristen’s father, John Stewart, why she wasn’t presenting with Robert Pattinson.

John responded that Kristen would present at the Oscars, “When it’s a great movie, not just one that makes a lot of money.”

Artistic integrity at such a young age?!

Eclipse movie release date: June 30th 2010!

Deadline Hollywood Daily is reporting that Summit-Ent has just scheduled the release date for the Eclipse movie for June 30th 2010:

EXCLUSIVE: I’ve confirmed there’s no director hired yet. And the two productions won’t be back-to-back. But that hasn’t stopped Summit Entertainment from newly scheduling its Twilight threequel for release on June 30, 2010, not long after its Twilight sequel New Moon set for November 20th this year now being helmed by Chris Weitz. Summit also officially changed the name of its vampire movie franchise based on Stephenie Meyer’s bestselling series of novels to The Twilight Saga. Here’s how Summit descibes the plot of the threequel Eclipse:

“As Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge, Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob — knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the ageless struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella has one more decision to make: life or death.”

Madonna in New Moon?

Madonna is reportedly set to be involved in Twilight sequel New Moon.

The Material Girl hitmaker’s manager, Guy Oseary, will be executive-producing the upcoming flick – which is based on the novel by author Stephenie Meyer – and is keen to get the star on board for the project.

It is unknown to whether Madonna, 50, will either act in New Moon or sing for the soundtrack or both.

Popstar has a new interview with Lucas Grabeel & 14241 Productions where he clears up the Alec rumor:

PopStar: Lucas, do you care to comment on the rumors that you will be playing Alec in New Moon?

Lucas: Yeah, my girlfriend told me that the other day. I think that is funny, none of that is actually true. I have not auditioned and have not been approached.

AnnaLynne McCord Auditioned for Heidi

E!Online is now reporting that 90210′s, AnnaLynne McCord, has auditioned for Heidi in New Moon:

Sources tell me McCord has auditioned for the role. “It’s not a big part,” one of the sources said. “Heidi would be more like a cameo.”

McCord should feel pretty comfortable on the set. Her 90210 costar Kellan Lutz—and rumored real-life boyfriend—played Emmett in Twilight and will return for the sequel.

McCord’s rep did not immediately comment nor did a rep for the studio, Summit Entertainment.

Mangold directing ‘Eclipse’ Rumor False

The rumor that was released earlier today is false according to Recordonline.com

A report tying Washingtonville film director James Mangold to the third installment of the “Twilight” saga “Eclipse,” has been called false by a studio official.

Paul Pfluge, head of corporate communications for Summit Entertainment – which controls the “Twilight” property – said a report by trade publication Production Weekly that said Summit was “in talks” with the director were “not accurate.”

Mangold Headed for Twilight’s Eclipse?

Summit Entertainment is in talks with director James Mangold to helm Eclipse, the third adaptation in Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series. That’s according to Production Weekly who announced the news this morning.

Mangold is the man behind Girl, Interrupted (lots angsty gals in that one), Walk the Line and 3:10 to Yuma. Again, it’s not confirmed he’s locked to direct, but if and when it is we’ll let you know.

Summit is currently gearing up New Moon, based on book two, with Chris Weitz at the helm. Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner are confirmed to star.
