EW Exclusive with Stephenie

We are very, very excited over here in Forks at Comic-Con, because we’re planning an exclusive interview with Stephenie Meyer that will go live on EW.com Friday! We’ll be sitting down with the Twilight series author for a very special one-on-one about her upcoming book Breaking Dawn, the Twilight movie, the Team Edward vs Team Jacob debate AND maybe, just maybe, if you have any really good questions for her… we might ask one or two of ‘em. So post your queries, comments, adulation, what-you-will, below, and check back on Friday for what’s sure to be a killer interview.

Nightly Scoop

Indigo Books and Music selects Canadian Twilight fan to meet Stephenie Meyer at Breaking Dawn Concert in New York City!

Chapters Indigo, Canadian bookstore has a contest to text a word and you could win a phone call from Stephenie! (See site for details)

ALSO, Sea Coast Online is reviewing the Twilight Saga this week.

AND, Newsweek has an article about the mother/daughter appeal of the Twilight series.

StephenieMeyer.com Update

Once again, we have several announcements. Announcement #1: only 11 more days!

Also, be sure to visit the MTV Movies Blog for Twilight Tuesday tomorrow. MTV is announcing how to submit questions for Stephenie to answer at the New York Breaking Dawn Concert Series event. Start thinking of questions (no spoilers though!). And, while you’re checking out movie news, the LA Times posted more photos from the set of Twilight on their Hollywood Backlot.

For those of you who are going to Comicon this week, I have received information about the Twilight autographing. I have posted it here on the calendar page. If you don’t know anything about Comicon [that makes two of us], you can just skip this link (because it is too late to register — it isn’t my fault, Summit never sent me the information).

Now, I have to reply to some very common questions that I have been emailed over the last few weeks. First, for bookstores that have contacted me about getting your midnight release parties/events on the event locator on TheTwilightSaga.com, please contact your Hachette Book Group sales rep. That is the official response, and I thought it would be easier to post it here than to write emails back to all of you. Second, since many very hopeful fans have asked me when they will know if they won the contest, I thought I would let you know that the winners of the BD Concert Series Sweepstakes were notified last week. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this means that if you weren’t contacted last week, you didn’t win. Sorry.

That was a bit depressing, and I feel like I should end on a happy note. So… only 11 days left!

Stephenie’s Notes on Quotes

Stephenie latest Myspace blog.

A few things to keep in mind about the teaser quotes beginning tomorrow:

1. They are out of context.

2. They are out of order.

3. Some of them are purposely misleading.

4. I have a twisted sense of humor.

(Number four is really the key point there.)

The quotes will probably show up around midnight EST, but no guarantees on that. Sleep is always my first priority.

The quotes will be on my website, too, but I’m not sure what time my brother will have them up. (There is a new little webmaster due any day now, so my site might have some lag time in the near future.)

Enjoy the quotes….and don’t go TOO crazy trying to make sense of them.

Important Message From Stephenie

Seth updated StephenieMeyer.com with an important message!

“It’s almost August, and I’m counting down to the release of Breaking Dawn just as anxiously as you are! I can’t wait to finally be able to discuss everything that happens inBreaking Dawn with you. I want to give a heads up to everyone going to the Breaking Dawn Concert Series events in Chicago, Los Angeles, and Seattle: I am going to talk about it all, so bring earplugs if you haven’t finished reading Breaking Dawn by then! (If you’re going to the first event in New York, it will be spoiler free.)

Speaking of spoilers, I want to ask you guys for a favor. As we saw with Eclipse (not to mention that last Harry Potter book), there is always the potential for copies of the book to be leaked early. My publisher is doing everything they can to prevent this, but there is only so much that can be done. This is the favor: if someone, somewhere, somehow, gets a copy early, I’m asking you to please not post any spoilers on the internet. And if you see something, please don’t spread it around. Breaking Dawn was meant to be experienced in a certain way, and I would hate for someone to get that experience ruined by seeing something online they didn’t want to see. My fans have been super cool about this in the past—last year in particular you guys went above and beyond to protect Eclipse until the release date—and I hope that we’ll have the same positive experience this year.

If somebody does post a spoiler (and remember there will be a lot of hoaxes out there—do not believe everything you read: Bella gets eaten by a polar bear, anyone?), I’d love your help in getting them taken down. My publisher has set up a special e-mail account, bdcopyrightviolation@hbgusa.com, for fans to alert us to spoilers that appear online. PLEASE only send links to spoilers. E-mails about events, contacting me, etc. will not be returned.

Another thing you may notice close to the release of Breaking Dawn is that the message boards on several fansites will be taken down. They are doing this as a favor to me because I want to protect you all from stumbling upon something that could ruin the book for you. There will be plenty of time to discuss all the details of the book after August 2nd.

Finally, I don’t think I could ever thank all of you enough for being so devoted to this series. You’ve proved over and over again that you are the best fans in the world. I hope that together we can make sure everybody gets to experience Breaking Dawn that way it was intended — on August 2nd.

We’re almost there!

–Steph”
