We asked fans if you had the power, would you replace Robert Pattinson with a different Edward? Is there a better Bella than Kristen Stewart? Does the supporting cast match what you imagined from the book? Here’s what you said…
For now, only Pattinson and Stewart are sure to live on in Meyer’s fantasy world. The two young stars, neither of whom banked on this sudden explosion of fame when they signed on for the movie, are currently limping through the last lap of their American promotional tour. (After a brief Thanksgiving rest, they’ll gear up again to spread Twilight fever across Europe.)
» Baltimore Sun has a short interview with Stephenie Meyer!
Novelist Stephenie Meyer has a rabid teen following, and Hollywood already has dubbed this month’s two-hour feature film debut of her book Twilight, about a girl named Bella who falls for a vampire named Edward, a pop-culture phenomenon.
MTV has an interview with Stephenie Meyer and a behind-the-scenes video of the Twilight movie! (Read it all here!)
MTV: And did any of the stars have differing ideas from yours?
Meyer: A little bit. With Rob [Pattinson], we sat down to talk about Edward’s character before we started filming. It wasn’t an argument, but we actually disagreed on his character. I’d be like, “This is how it is,” and he’d be like, “No, it’s this way.” And the funny thing about it was, here we are, arguing about a fictional character. Yet, in the performance, he did what he wanted, and it turned out how I wanted it.
Reelz Channel has a new interesting interview with Stephenie Meyer:
RC: How much input did you have in the script?
Meyer: It was a really pleasant exchange from the beginning. They were really interested in my ideas. I didn’t want to get in the way and make it worse, so I let them come to me and they did. They let me have input on it and I think they took 90 percent of what I said and incorporated it right into the script.
Kind of last minute, but just a heads up. I’m going to be on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show tomorrow morning around 7ish Pacific time. This is to the best of my knowledge in this moment; something important might come up in entertainment news and then I’ll be cancelled like Matt Damon on Jimmy Kimmel, so no guarantees. I promise to do my part, i.e. set my alarm clock.
